Brigman Owens performed security in American soccer for the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins in the Countrywide Soccer League. At the University of Cincinnati, he was a collegiate football participant.
He moved on to Cincinnati College in 1963, when he was appointed the starting off quarterback. He completed twelfth in the US in whole offense with 974 passing yards, 7 passing touchdowns, 556 rushing yards (led the group), and 6 speeding touchdowns. He was also a punter and placekicker.
