Check out what critics think of the film:

“Sensational” – Total Film

“Robert Pattinson will be your new favorite Batman” – Insider

“Matt Reeves delivers a nail-biting, dark and fun movie that showcases the rise of Batman” – MTV Movies

“Absolutely euphoric” – Unilad

“One Fucking Movie” – Shortlist

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Matt Reeves confirmed that production will begin what he calls the ‘Batverse’.

“What I really wanted with this movie was to kick off the ‘Batverse’. You don’t do a story and say ‘This is Chapter 1’ because you might not be able to do Chapter 2. So the story had to stand on its own. But we can also do other stories connected to the movie without calling it a sequel, because the idea is to make the story around Gotham never end.”

Reeves did not elaborate on the series that will follow the Gotham police, but said that the Penguin series will be “a typical ‘American Dreams’ kind of story, but in Gotham, almost like the ‘Scarface’ narrative… character we all know will reach mythical status. He’s underrated and he’s like a ticking time bomb.”

Now we just have to wait and see how the film starring Robert Pattinson will set the stage for both productions.

Remembering that ‘Batman’ premieres on March 3 and will last for 176 minutes (2 hours and 56 minutes), making it the longest movie of the character.

Until then, the longest was ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’, with 2 hours and 45 minutes, followed by ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’ and ‘Batman vs. Superman’, both at 2 hours and 32 minutes.

In an interview, Reeves commented that the film will be different from the previous films and will not present itself as a traditional origin story, as we have seen in the past. As he explained, the film will make references to its origins, showing a much more emotional and complex perspective.

“I felt like we saw a lot of the character’s origin stories. It feels like things go further and further in this fantasy, and I thought ‘well, one place we haven’t been is grounding it the way the Year One comics do, getting right into a young Batman, not being an origin tale. , but referring to his origins and shaking him to the core. You can make your story very practical, but I also thought it could be the most emotional Batman movie ever made.”

In addition to Pattinson in the lead role, the cast includes Andy Serkis (Alfred), Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Peter Skarsgaard, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, and brothers Max and Charlie Carver.
