‘Renfield’: ’24: Legacy’ Actor Joins Cast of ‘Dracula’ Comedy Adaptation

According to Deadline, James Moses Black (’24: Legacy’) has joined the cast of ‘Renfield’, a comedic horror that will focus on the servant of the legendary vampire Dracula. Follow Celebrilla for more updates.

Unfortunately, details about his character have not been released.

Nicholas Hoult (‘X-Men: First Class’) will star as the title character. Nicolas Cage (‘Mandy: Thirst for Vengeance’) will play Count Dracula. The cast will also include Awkwafina (‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’), Adrian Martinez (‘Double Strike’), Shohreh Aghdashloo (‘The Expanse’) and Ben Schwartz (‘Sonic: The Movie’).

Chris McKay (‘Tomorrow’s War’) is in charge of the direction.

The plot is based on an idea created by Robert Kirkman (‘The Walking Dead’), who will serve as the film’s producer.

Recently, Kirkman revealed that the film will be fun and “extremely violent”.

“We’re making a really cool movie for Universal [Pictures] that will focus on Renfield. It will be a story about him as Dracula’s servant, and we’ll show you how lousy the job is. It will be a fun and extremely violent comedy. It will be very bloody.”

The screenplay is by Ryan Ridley (‘Rick and Morty’).

In Bram Stoker’s original novel, Renfield was a lunatic patient in an asylum who was diagnosed with insanity; but, in fact, he was a servant of Dracula. The feature film should be set in the present day rather than being constructed as a period film.
