Was Gwen Casten Sick?

Gwen Casten, the daughter of Illinois Congressman Sean Casten, died unexpectedly.

This morning, Congressman Casten’s beloved daughter, Gwen (17), passed away. The Casten family requests privacy, and we will be issuing no further comment during this heartbreaking time.

There is no information about the cause of Gwen Casten’s death, and there was no indication that she was sick or had a health problem before.

However, the investigation into Gwen’s death cause is going on.

Gwen Casten’s family has asked for privacy and will not be releasing any other information during this difficult time.

Casten’s campaign has requested all Illinois television stations withdraw his campaign advertisements from the broadcast until further notice.

Sean Casten is running against Marie Newman, a fellow freshman U.S. Representative, and Charles Hughes, a Nicor operations mechanic.

Newman is also suspending all of her campaign advertisements immediately.

Newman decided to run against Casten in 2022 primary when the Democratic majority in Springfield authorized a congressional remap that put her in the highly Hispanic 3rd District, which is now represented by U.S. Rep. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia.
