Jan Wade, president and general manager of Channel 12, acknowledged Watson’s resignation. Jared Fialko, who has been covering the station for a few weeks, will take Watson’s place on the sports roster.

Dario Melendez was appointed to the job of sports director when Dan Needles, the station’s director of sports since 1998, retired in May.

After having a difficult time getting along with the new sports directors, Stephen Watson is apparently quitting WISN-TV. Two months after Watson’s replacement as WISN-sports TV’s director, he resigns.

None of the parties concerned have confirmed this false rumor.

He was employed as the play-by-play announcer and broadcast director for the BEK Sports Network in North Dakota after earning his degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

He then relocated and began working as a sports reporter for WPTZ/WNNE in Burlington, Vermont, where he remained for a year before joining the Big 12 Sports organization in November 2014.
