Lisa Brühlmann (‘Killing Eve’) joins as director.
The miniseries is based on the novel ‘Quem Era Ela’, published by JP Delaney, who is also the creator of the adaptation.
In an interview with the portal, Delaney said that:
“I had long dreamed of adapting ‘The Girl Before’, but I was only determined to do so if I could find partners who would dive into the project, and I found those partners at the BBC and HBO Max.”
“With the talent of Gugu and David, we are going to make a psychological thriller on TV even more exciting than a movie. I’m incredibly excited to retell this story in a visual medium. It was also a lot of fun to collaborate on episodes two and three with the brilliant screenwriter Marissa Lestrad.”
